Device Tips

Quick, no-nonsense tips to save files on your device using InstaViewer. For downloading tools, try Video, Reels, Reels Music, Photo, Stories, Highlights, Profile.

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

  1. Open Safari and copy a public Instagram link (post, Reel, Story highlight, or profile).
  2. Go to the right tool on InstaViewer and paste the link, then tap Download.
  3. When prompted, choose Download. Find files in Files → Downloads or the Photos app.

Can’t save? Check Settings → Safari → Downloads (set a folder), ensure enough storage, and try again.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and copy a public Instagram URL.
  2. Paste into the InstaViewer tool and tap Download.
  3. File saves to Internal storage → Downloads. Check the Downloads app if needed.

If downloads are blocked, allow storage permissions for Chrome and free up space.

Desktop (Chrome / Safari / Firefox)

  1. Copy a public Instagram link and paste it into the matching InstaViewer tool.
  2. Click Download and choose a location if prompted.
  3. Find files in your browser’s Downloads folder.

Tip: On macOS, check Finder → Downloads. On Windows, check File Explorer → Downloads.

Common issues & quick fixes

  • No HD option: HD appears only when Instagram exposes a higher variant for that link.
  • No audio: Some posts are muted or audio is separate. Use Reels Music for audio-only when available.
  • Download blocked: Allow storage permission, disable “Ask where to save” temporarily, or try another browser.
  • File won’t open: Try a different player (e.g., VLC). Re-download if the file is incomplete.
  • Private or expired: InstaViewer supports public content only; refresh the link if it changed.

Where do my files save?

iPhone / iPad

Open Files → Downloads. If saving to Photos is enabled, check the Photos app.

Android

Internal storage → Downloads or the Downloads app.

Desktop

Browser’s Downloads folder (macOS Finder / Windows File Explorer).

File formats & quality

  • Videos/Reels: Commonly MP4 (H.264/AAC). Quality depends on the source.
  • Reels Music: Audio-only (e.g., MP3) when available.
  • Photos: JPEG/WEBP variants. We keep the highest public size exposed by Instagram.
